Government House - 21 Gun Salute

Each year the Governor of Jersey invites the population of Jersey to join him at his home,
Government House, to celebrate HM The Queen’s Official birthday and announce Honours
to be received by local people from HM The Queen’s Birthday Honours list. A forecast of rain
with a clear gap between 6pm and 8.30 pm fortunately proved to be accurate. Unusual misfires
on Number 1 Gun brought cheers and a round of applause from guests when the Gunner turned
to the audience and doffed his hat at the successful conclusion of the third attempt.
